Maurya Couvares

Maurya Couvares is an All American Triathlete who has competed with Team USA at the Triathlon World Championships multiple times as an amateur. A former competitive swimmer, she capped her career on Boston College's NCAA Division 1 Women’s Swim Team. She later transitioned into coaching, becoming the founding head coach of the Wagner College Women’s Triathlon Team (NCAA Division 1) and coaching the Brooklyn Stingrays youth swim team.

As a certified Level 2 USA Triathlon Coach and a certified USA Swimming Coach, Maurya is passionate about coaching female endurance athletes. She trained at a high level through pregnancy, qualifying for Team USA twice while pregnant, and later qualified for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships just eight months postpartum. Maurya is also a proud mom to a 17-month-old boy and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
