I hate working out - But I love working with the team at Priority. I’ve been a client for over a year, and they’ve helped me change my relationship to fitness and nutrition… benefits like dropping 30 lbs, loving the way I looked on my wedding day, and not being outrun by my dog are all proof of that. Fitness goals don’t exist in a vacuum, they are intertwined with everything else that is happening in your life. Because of that, I have literally cried through entire sessions (sorry, Chris!) and still got a good work out. Luckily, I usually end up laughing through most of them. The team at Priority creates a personal environment that becomes whatever you need it to be to reach your goals, and I can’t recommend them highly enough. -Carolina D

Priority Fitness has been a GODSEND in my overall physical health (not to mention -- purely satisfying my shameless and vain need to 'look cute'). I've always been pretty committed to working out -- fluctuating between spinning, taking weight classes, and running -- but after only a couple of weeks of training with Chris and Ben, I have a much better sense of what to do to increase my strength, endurance, and improve my fitness generally. It doesn't hurt that they are incredibly nice, and every workout feels like a fabulous therapy session for me! -Dionne s

About a year ago I joined my local gym, a step that took forty years to make. Priority Fitness became my expert trainers who introduced a series of exercises and routines and helped me achieve throughout the course of the year all the goals I set myself. In short, they are thorough professionals. Whether you are just starting out, or have been going to a gym for years, I would highly recommend their training sessions. -Steve M

For over 20 years I was the typical faux active person. I had fits and starts at gyms, a yoga class here, a jog there, two straight weeks at the gym, ten months off, and a strong weakness for salt and vinegar potato chips. For the most part, that "worked." I was not over weight or feasting on junk food, nor was I particularly healthy. I had convinced myself that I was too weak, and actually incapable of being in shape. Stubbornly so. And so, my "muffin top" continued to grow.
Two years ago I decided, enough already. I'll go to my local gym and see if someone there can help me get on track. After a ten minute "conversation" with the gym trainer, he tried to sell me a 12 week surefire program that would result in me essentially looking like a 250 pound male body builder. ( No joke). I could have been a monkey, the training method would have been the same. He did not hear me or see me. Discouraged, I gave up for a few more months, more weary and more stubborn until a friend referred me over to Chris and Ben at Priority Fitness. "They are mensches, you'll love them!" She was right.
After an initial meeting to go over my goals (I never had fitness goals before!) and my salty chip history, with some skepticism on my part and some whining but amazingly not too much - I was hooked.
The vibe at Priority Fitness, created by the trainer's personable and professional skill and the intimate setting, is such that I felt comfortable working with them right away. What has worked most for me is that PF does not subscribe to some kind of stereotypical, "muscle factory, drill sergeant, whistle blowing," kind of approach. They are completely accessible and have a certain kind of finesse and philosophy that translates to challenging you enough so that you can achieve your goals, with the individualized attention to keep you motivated. I actually look forward to my workouts ( but don't tell them this!) I felt supported, and I felt challenged to the point that even I ( the person incapable of working out!) wanted to push myself. I wanted to succeed and I started to believe I could actually get into shape. In short, working with Ben and Chris at Priority Fitness has helped me break a 20 year cycle of "putting fitness off until later," something I had not been able to achieve with other teachers or classes or on my own. I can't believe I'm now one of those people who can say, "I feel better and I look better," but I am. Most importantly, with a family history of heart issues, my cardiologist said to me, I can either start exercising or take a medication. I chose the exercise, and two years later, at my latest cardiologist appointment - she was amazed at my improvements and said that the consistent exercise had successfully taken the place of any need for medication.
Working with B & C has changed the trajectory of my thinking about my physical abilities and well being. Sure, there are times when I still don't believe it, or I falter or trip up with my goals. I have more work that I will certainly continue to do, these are life changes we're talking about! However, throughout the time I've been working with Priority Fitness, they always like to remind me that I can, and have done the work. ( And then I stubbornly roll my eyes...and do some push ups!) - Deb G

If I can be so bold as to claim a mantra for Priority, it's the old "Teach a man to fish" cliché. They're thrilled to help you meet whatever goal you have in the short term, but they also want you to know what you can do to live a healthy life and they do it with care, listening, pushing and, to put it simply, friendship.
For me, I've always liked working out and have been a part of practically every fitness chain in New York. But, what happens to me (and I think happens to a lot of us) is, I get bored. And the reason I get bored (and I'd guess happens to a lot of us as well) is because I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING.
My wife started with Priority well before I did. She was so enthusiastic about the guys that after 8 months I decided to give it a try and I've never looked back.
Unlike every other personal trainer experience I've had (e.g., the free ones at gyms), the people at Priority are engaged, chill, fun, and always keep things interesting.
But even more than that, having personal trainers like those at Priority become a means not just to "get fit", but to really upgrade your way of living from inside and out. I'm challenged every single week with what my session entails, but more importantly, I've come to understand what I'm doing and how it's benefiting me, and I'll have these tools for the rest of my life.
Bottom line: I have never been stronger and looked better in my life (including my wedding!). Priority Fitness puts the rest to shame and shows you what personal training can and should be about - Adam G

Ive trained with Chris and Ben for over 4 years, and have been with them at Priority Fitness since its inception. The changes resulting from exercise and healthy living, inspired by them, have been dramatic.
I began as an overweight, under exercised, sluggish middle-aged man, and felt 20 years older than I was. I could barely do 3 minutes of cardio-vascular workouts without feeling like I would pass out. But with Chris and Ben's guidance and encouragement, my endurance steadily improved until 45 - 60 minute cardio workouts are now the norm. I lost 45 lbs. in the process and have kept the weight off for 4 years!
Chris and Ben's careful attention to weight training has improved my flexibility, balance and physical strength. Their knowledge and advice on nutrition and healthy eating have allowed me to make necessary and creative changes in my eating habits. The combination of cardio exercise and weight training along with nutritional changes have given me the durability and stamina to more easily carry out every day and work related tasks. And I can honestly say that I now feel 20 years younger instead of the reverse.
One of the unique things about Priority Fitness is the personal interest shown by Chris and Ben in my well being. I have never felt like "just another client". Their attention, and lighthearted but disciplined approach to my sessions cause me to look forward to being there rather than dreading just another mundane gym experience.
I am indebted to Chris and Ben for helping me to create this new way of life, and expect to be a Priority Fitness client as long as they (and I) are in existence. - Eric R
